Biography
A Vocation for Art
Vicente Enriquez Landin is a versatile Cuban artist specializing in drawing, painting, and illustration. His creative journey began at an early age at the Vocational Workshop of Visual Arts in Perico, his hometown. Later, he sought formal education at the Professional School of Visual Arts in Matanzas and the University of the Arts in Havana, focusing on the conservation and restoration of easel paintings.
Vicente’s artistic repertoire encompasses a fusion of traditional and contemporary techniques. His preferred mediums include acrylics, nib and ink, graphite, charcoal, and mixed media, with occasional forays into digital illustration. Driven by a profound appreciation for Art History, literature, and spirituality, his work is a testament to his passion for storytelling. Reflecting a desire for universal beauty and spiritual depth, his pieces offer a meaningful perspective in our predominantly secular world. Themes of historical enchantment, sacred reverence, and romanticism pervade his imaginative drawings and paintings, inspired by the narratives of the Old Masters, legends, fables, and the splendor of nature. His wide range of subjects includes landscapes, human figures, surreal scenes, sacral art, still life and animals.
Enriquez Landin’s meticulously detailed artworks, which are collected inside and outside Cuba, have won awards and recognition in various salons and contests, as well as in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Beyond his endeavors in fine art, Vicente has made notable contributions to artistic education and illustrated for children’s books, magazines, and theater productions. He lives and works in Miami, where he is based with his wife since 2023.
