“VEL FINE ART” is the brand name of my small business. I chose the initial letters of my full name, “Vicente Enriquez Landin”, and combined them with my passion for “Fine Art”.

My subjects include surreal landscapes, mythical scenes and creatures, sacral art, human figures, still life, and animals, merging fantasy, allegory, and symbolism. Many people think that my paintings are done with oils, because of the classical appeal and textures they present. I love oils and I’ve used them in the past, but currently I paint with acrylics because of their versatility and fast drying time. For more details about the mediums I use please visit my Technique page.

I draw inspiration from a wide variety of sources, such as Art History, legends, and nature. I love all that is imaginative and that comes from ancient times. I feel inspired by the Middle Ages, the Old Masters, literature, the Bible, movies, music, and life experiences. I also enjoy the peace and beauty of the natural world.

This principle applies universally to artists, regardless of their career stage: know yourself and be true to your inner voice. Although having influences is inevitable and a natural, important part of every artist’s evolution, I believe that each person has something unique that identifies them. Of course, this is a process that takes time and dedication. The task is to find what resonates deeply within you and allow that feeling to emerge. You are original to the extent that you are yourself, because no one is the same as anyone else. Beyond cultural references, which are essential, there is a personality that defines each individual and expresses itself through their work. When you accept that ‘you,’ everything becomes clear, and all that remains is to move forward in the direction of your dreams.
